To demonstrate the determination, concerted efforts and solidarity of the community in fighting against atypical pneumonia through cleaning up the environment, Dr Yeoh said the objective of these activities was to work together in the community to clean up Hong Kong.

"The activity is to encourage individuals of all walks of life to participate in this Clean Hong Kong programme and also to facilitate that habit will continue in future," he said.

Dr Yeoh further spoke highly of Wan Chai district for having a very good record of cleaning up the district.

"District Board members are very active with the citizens in Wan Chai in cleaning up the district and very encouraged by the excellent work idea," he added.

During his visit to the Bowrington Road Market, Dr Yeoh first toured the market, had a brief chat with the stall operators and called upon their support in cleaning up the environment.
