PSHWF to attend ASEAN Health Minister Meeting

The Permanent Secretary for Health, Welfare and Food, Mrs Carrie Yau Tsang Ka-lai, will attend the ASEAN Health Minister Meeting on severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) on April 26 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

The ASEAN meeting has extended invitation to three other Asian countries including China. Hong Kong is taking part as a member of the Chinese Delegation.

"The Health Minister Meeting provides a valuable venue for ministers to exchange information on the latest situation of SARS and to share experiences on the prevention and control of the spread of the disease," Mrs Yau said.

Mrs Yau will depart today (April 25) for Kuala Lumpur and return to Hong Kong on Sunday (April 27).
