SHWF visits Health Department of Guangdong Province

The Secretary for Health, Welfare and Food, Dr Yeoh Eng-kiong, will lead a delegation to Guangzhou on September 7 (Sunday) to visit the Health Department of Guangdong Province.

Members of the delegation include Deputy Director of Health, Dr Leung Pak-yin; and Consultant (Special Preventive Programme) of Department of Health, Dr Lee Shui-shan.

"We would take this opportunity to discuss the implementation of the communication mechanism of infectious diseases between Guangdong Province and Hong Kong.

"Short-term exchange and sharing programmes for public health officers in the two places, as well as enhancement of scientific and academic collaboration between the two places are among the topics of discussion to enhance collaboration," Dr Yeoh said.

Dr Yeoh will hold discussion with the Director-General of Health Department of Guangdong Province, Dr Yao Zhibin, and visit the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention of Guangdong Province.

Dr Yeoh will return to Hong Kong on the evening of September 8.
