Appointments to Lotteries Fund Advisory Committee
The Government today (August 26) announced the appointment of three new members
and the re-appointment of six incumbent members to the Lotteries Fund Advisory
Committee (LFAC) for two years from September 1, 2005 to August 31, 2007.
The three new members are Mr Chan Wing-lim, Mr Pau Shiu-hung and Dr John Yeung
Hin-chung.
Mr Chan is currently the chairman of the District Fight Crime Committee and a
District Council member in Kowloon City.
Mr Pau is the vice-president of the Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks
Corporation and the chief commissioner of Scout Association of Hong Kong.
Dr Yeung is the managing director of the Cross-Harbour (Holdings) Limited. He is
also the chairman of the Traffic Accident Victims Assistance Advisory Committee
and a member of the Barristers Disciplinary Tribunal Panel.
The six incumbent members re-appointed are Miss Anna May Chan Mei-lan, Mr Ching
Cheung-ying, Mrs Agnes Mak Tang Pik-yee, Mr Suen Leung-kwong, Dr Wong Chun-por
and Miss Gabriella Wong Siu-ling.
"The members come from a wide range of professions and we will be able to draw
on their expertise and experience in serving the committee," a Government
spokesman said.
Mr Henry Lau King-chiu, Mr Vincent Lo Wing-sang and Mr Aaron Wan Chi-keung, who
have served on the committee for seven years, will retire from the committee.
"We wish to express our thanks and appreciation to the three outgoing members
for their valuable contribution towards the work of the committee during their
term of appointment," the spokesman said.
The functions of the LFAC are to advise the Director of Social Welfare on
applications from welfare agencies for allocations from the Lotteries Fund and
on charitable fund-raising issues including the allocation of flag days.
An updated list of the non-official members of the LFAC as from September 1,
2005 is as follows :
