SHWF attends WHO Regional Committee meeting
At the invitation of the World Health Organisation (WHO), the Secretary for
Health, Welfare and Food, Dr York Chow, will lead a delegation to attend the
56th session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Western Pacific scheduled for
September 19 in New Caledonia.
Other delegation members include the Director of Health, Dr Lam Ping-yan;
Assistant Director of Health, Dr Gloria Tam; and Consultant of the Centre for
Health Protection of the Department of Health, Dr Thomas Tsang.
Dr Chow will take this opportunity to visit Australia from September 13 to 18 to
learn about the Australian health care system.
During his stay in Canberra and Sydney, Dr Chow will call on his counterparts in
the ministries of related disciplines.
Dr Chow will return to Hong Kong on the evening of September 21.
