Appointments to Hospital Authority

The Government today (March 31) announced the appointment of two new members and the re-appointment of one member to the Hospital Authority (HA) for a two-year term with effect from tomorrow.

The new members are: Mr David Lie-A-Cheong Tai-chong and Mr Gregory So Kam-leung.

Mrs Gloria Ng Wong Yee-man has been re-appointed as member to the HA.

Following is a brief biography of the new members:

Mr David Lie-A-Cheong Tai-chong is a businessman and a member of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the Commission on Strategic Development and the Hong Kong Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation.

Mr Gregory So Kam-leung is a solicitor and a member of the Commission on Strategic Development and the Board of Management of the Chinese Permanent Cemeteries.

The Secretary for Health, Welfare and Food, Dr York Chow, thanked outgoing members of the HA, Mr Vincent Fang Kang and Dr Eden Woon Yi-teng for their advice and contribution to the HA. They will retire from the HA Board tomorrow.

With effect from tomorrow, the HA Board will comprise a chairman, 19 non-official members, three public officers and one principal officer from the HA. The new membership list for the Board is as follows:
