"Arts and Inclusion - Opportunities and Challenges" Symposium (with photos)
The following is issued on behalf of the International Festival of Inclusive
Arts:
What is the power of arts in influencing society's perceptions of people with
disabilities? How do arts connect with education and disabilities? What are the
opportunities and challenges and how do different fields collaborate to create
blue seas? In the "Arts and Inclusion �V Opportunities and Challenges" Symposium
held by the International Festival of Inclusive Arts, overseas and local experts
have been invited to share their experience and discuss the issues in depth. The
public is welcome to reserve complimentary tickets and join the discussion.
To be held on December 4 from 9am to 5pm at the Hong Kong Science Museum, the
Symposium gathers international and local experts in education, arts and
culture, including Ms Soula Antoniou, President of VSA Arts, Ms Ida Lam,
Chairperson of the Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong, Ms Wendy
Crawford, Founder and Producer of mobileWOMEN.org, USA, Ms Cathy Horsley, Access
Arts Development Officer, Arts and Festivals, Australia, Dr Vanessa Li Lok-wa,
Senior Curriculum Development Officer (Visual Arts), Education and Manpower
Bureau, and Mr Tang Hoi-chiu, Chief Curator, Hong Kong Museum of Art, who offer
different perspectives on opportunities and challenges in inclusive arts. This
is a rare opportunity for people in the fields of arts, education and
rehabilitation to grasp the global horizon without the need to leave Hong Kong.

Organised by the Health, Welfare and Food Bureau and the Arts with the Disabled
Association Hong Kong, the International Festival of Inclusive Arts will be held
from December 2 to 10. Through diverse programmes like performances,
exhibitions, a symposium, workshops and a carnival, the festival aims to provide
an opportunity for participation in arts by people with and without
