SFH to attend World Health Summit Regional Meeting - Asia

The Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, will depart for Singapore tomorrow morning (April 9) to attend the World Health Summit, Regional Meeting - Asia.

The regional meeting is being held from April 8 to 10 in Singapore. The theme of this year's summit is "Health for Sustainable Development in Asia". Participating health ministers and senior government officials from the region will exchange views on various themes including the impact of health on Asian economies, financing health care in Asia, innovations in health in Asia and emerging health threats in Asia.

At the personal invitation of the Singaporean Minister of Health, Mr Gan Kim Yong, Dr Ko will attend the summit and deliver a keynote address on the latest health policy in Hong Kong at the Asian ministers panel discussion session to be held tomorrow evening.

Dr Ko will meet with Mr Gan ahead of the panel discussion session to exchange views on health-related issues of mutual concern.

Dr Ko will return to Hong Kong at noon on Wednesday (April 10).
