The Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food launched the Funding Scheme for Promoting the Culture of Low-Salt-Low-Sugar Diets in the Community this July to offer a one-off subsidy to the 18 District Councils to organise activities with district organisations to promote a low-salt-and-sugar dietary culture. The Secretary for Food and Health, Professor Sophia Chan (sixth left), today (November 5) officiated at one of these subsidised activities, a carnival in Yuen Long promoting the trend of consuming a diet low in salt and sugar. Organised by Yuen Long District Healthy City, the carnival aims to promote low-salt-and-sugar and healthy diets to local residents through game stalls and health counter.
