Types of Grants

Non-Research Health Promotion Projects

  • Grants for non-research projects are normally awarded for periods of up to 2 years. Grants are intended to cover the direct costs attributable to the project or programme. The cost of premises and established academic or service staff will not be supported. In general, indirect costs of projects or programmes will not be supported.

  • The HCPF also considers an extension/propagation of an effective Non-Research Health Promotion Project. Projects are expected to have the following elements:

    • To built on a successful HCPF-funded project
    • A good track record of the Project Team
    • Skills and knowledge to expanded network of community partners
    • Extended group of beneficiaries
    • Self-sustainable after funding period

  • Successful applications may be awarded full or partial support. Funding for a new project will normally not exceed $300,000. Total sum of funding for an extended project together with the previous project will generally not exceed $500,000.


  • Funding is on a one-off basis for completed, self-contained projects or programmes. Supplementary funding for projects or programmes supported mainly from other sources will not be provided.
