Types of Grants

Seed Funding Scheme

  • The Seed Funding Scheme is established to facilitate mobilisation of local resources through building partnership between public, private and non-governmental organisations to promote health in the community.

  • It offers non-recurrent funding opportunities to support development of innovative, effective and sustainable health promotion programmes in the community.

  • Funding ceiling for each grant will normally not exceed $500,000.

  • Bottom-up approach: Community partners are encouraged to identify the local needs in health promotion and propose strategies appropriate to the target population.

  • Nature of projects to be supported:
    - Programmes that are proven to be effective and appropriate to meet the needs of the targeted groups in the proposed community setting.
    - Programmes that have excellent potential in building community capacity in health promotion, engaging the community through partnership and mobilising local resources and empowering the community to participate in decision that affect health.
    - Programmes that are sustainable.
    - The programmes should not be profit making. Any revenue generated from the programmes must be re-invested into the projects.
