Additional briefing on Community Investment and Inclusion Fund

< Back

An additional briefing session on the Community Investment and Inclusion Fund (CIIF) will be organised by the Health, Welfare and Food Bureau on September 13 in response to popular demand.

CIIF Project Management Officer Mrs Grace Ng said today (August 31) that the public had demonstrated keen interest in the project since the CIIF was launched on August 21.

"Enrolments for the five briefing sessions targeted at prospective applicants are enthusiastic. All the five sessions are now oversubscribed. The first was successfully held yesterday (August 30) with most of the participants finding the session very helpful in developing their proposals," she said

The additional briefing session will be held on September 13 at 10 am to 12.30 pm at Room 501, the Civil Service Training and Development Institute in North Point. Simultaneous interpretation service will be provided for this session.

Briefings on CIIF aim at enhancing prospective applicants' understanding of the objectives, scope of the fund, and the application procedures. The closing date of the first batch of applications is October 4.

The $300 million fund was introduced as a new initiative by the Chief Executive in the 2001 Policy Address to encourage mutual concern and aid among people, promote community participation and cross-sectoral collaboration, provide local solutions to local concerns, and strengthen the social capital development of Hong Kong.

Please visit the CIIF website for details at http://www.hwfb.gov.hk/ciif/index.htm, or call the CIIF Secretariat on 2189 2766.
