Charge for Accident and Emergency service gazetted

The new charge for Accident and Emergency (A&E) service at public hospitals managed by the Hospital Authority is published in the Gazette today (November 22).

With effect from November 29, 2002, a charge of $100 per attendance will be imposed for A&E service for patients falling into the following categories:

*a holder of Hong Kong identity card issued under the Registration of Persons Ordinance or his/her children under 11 years of age;

*other persons approved by the Chief Executive of the Hospital Authority.

Other patients will be charged $570 per attendance.
