A spokesman for the Food and Health Bureau said: "Following the completion of the first stage public consultation on healthcare reform in June last year, we are now working on the implementation of various service reform proposals, which have been well-received by the public, and development of detailed financing proposals for the second stage public consultation.

"Given the major role that the private medical sector plays in Hong Kong's healthcare system, we would like to invite professionals from more healthcare sub-sectors so as to broaden the advisory base for the service reform implementation and the second stage public consultation."

The HMDAC is tasked to review and develop the service model for healthcare in both the public and private sectors, and propose long-term healthcare financing options.
