TAVA advisory committee chairman re-appointed
The
Government announced today (Friday) the re-appointment of Hon Ambrose
Cheung Wing-sum as Chairman of the Traffic Accident Victims Assistance
Advisory Committee.
Two incumbent members, Mr Clement Lo Kwong-chi and Mr Louis Leung
Wing-on, have also been re-appointed.
They have, during their term of office, made valuable contribution
to the work of the Advisory Committee.
In addition, two new members have been appointed for a term of two
years. They are Mr Lee Wai-hung and Mr John Yeung Hin-chung. Mr Lee
has wide experience in the insurance field while Mr Yeung has extensive
experience in both the public and private sectors.
All appointments are effective from 1 July 1999.
The Secretary for Health and Welfare thanked members for their valuable
support and contribution over the years and looked forward to the
contribution of the new members to the work of the Advisory Committee.
The Traffic Accident Victims Assistance Advisory Committee advises
the Director of Social Welfare on all matters pertaining to the administration
of the Traffic Accident Victims Assistance Scheme and the administration
of the Traffic Accident Victims Assistance Fund. It consists of five
non-official members and three ex-officio members including the Director
of Social Welfare, the Director of Legal Aid or his representative
and the Commissioner of Police or his representative.
