Sheltered workshop products on sale

< Back

A Christmas sale featuring products made by people with disabilities in sheltered workshops was launched today (Wednesday).

The event was officially kicked off by the Secretary for Health and Welfare, Dr E K Yeoh, and the Chairman of the Rehabilitation Advisory Committee, Dr Raymond Wu.

It is being held on the ground floor covered walkway of Murray Building, Garden Road, Central, between 12.30 pm and 2.30 pm daily until Friday (December 10).

Officiating at the kick-off ceremony, Dr Yeoh urged the public to support people with disabilities by offering them more working opportunities.

"I am delighted to see that more opportunities are being provided to people with disabilities to demonstrate their working abilities," he said.

The event is an encore of the successful Christmas sale held at the same venue last year. It provides a lunch time shopping spree for those working in the Government Secretariat and nearby offices.

Sheltered workshops from 15 non-governmental organizations are taking part in the three-day event. Items on sale include Christmas decorations and cards, pottery, stationery, paper art, crystal ornaments, watches and clocks, rattan/wooden products, bags, sewing items and handicrafts.
