Dear President [Do Do So], distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen,

  1. First of all, it is my great pleasure and honour joining all of you at the JCI Hong Kong Jayceettes 48th Anniversary Banquet.
  2. JCI Hong Kong Jayceettes is one of the 21 local chapters of Junior Chamber International Hong Kong and the first lady chapter in Asia. Since its establishment in October 1969, JCI Hong Kong Jayceettes has been providing various opportunities for members to excel in their personal development in different areas. The Members share the belief of contributing to the betterment of the community and developing skills and social responsibility to create positive change. This is attained through the four areas of opportunity, namely Individual, Community, International and Business. The Jayceettes have all along devoted their passion, energy, and intelligence to numerous sustainable and impactful projects and have actively supported a wide range of charity services and the setting up of many meaningful and prominent projects, such as the Hong Kong Social Entrepreneur Contest, Breastfeeding Best Feeding project, and the Female Elites Series’ Workshop.
  3. Please allow me to take this opportunity to give my hearty appreciation for all the efforts the Jayceettes have contributed to these events. In particular, I notice that the Breastfeeding Best Feeding project was awarded the Best Local Community Empowerment Program and one of the top 4 of “Best Project” at the JCI Asia-Pacific Conference 2017. This project has heightened public awareness of the benefits of breastfeeding and the importance of fostering a breastfeeding friendly community. The government would look forward to more co-operation opportunities with the JCI Hong Kong Jayceettes in the promotion of breastfeeding and other health initiatives in order to promote the physical and mental wellness of the public as a whole.
  4. The new government term of the Hong Kong SAR Government has been established since 1 July 2017. As the Secretary for Food and Health, to safeguard public health, provide quality medical services, ensure food safety and environmental hygiene as well as assisting the sustainable development of fishery and agriculture will be top priorities on my agenda. My team and I will continue to work hard for the betterment of Hong Kong.
  5. Finally, I wish to extend my warmest congratulations to the JCI Hong Kong Jayceettes on its 48th anniversary. I am sure that the JCI Hong Kong Jayceettees would scale new heights in the years to come and that every Jayceette will be able to develop her potential and exude her charisma to the fullest. Thank you.
