Invitation to Tender - Development of private hospitals

< Back

Promotion of private hospital development is one of the Government’s healthcare reform initiatives to increase the overall capacity of the healthcare system to cope with the increasing service demand and to offer more choices for patients who can afford patronage of private medical services.

To this end, we have reserved four sites at Wong Chuk Hang, Tai Po, Tseung Kwan O and Lantau for private hospital development. We conducted an expression of interest exercise in December 2009 to solicit market interest in the four reserved hospital sites. To roll out the disposal of sites in phases, we issued invitations openly for tenders for the first two sites at Wong Chuk Hang and Tai Po on 13 April 2012. The tenders were closed on 27 July 2012.

An assessment panel, set up by the Food and Health Bureau, will follow the established Government procurement and tendering procedures to assess the tenders according to the marking scheme published in the tender documents. We expect to announce the tender results in early 2013.
