Poached Pear with Osmanthus

(Serves 8) (Source of recipe: dietitian of the Department of Health)
Poached Pear with Osmanthus

Ingredients:

  1. Pear 2 pcs (approx. 500 g)
  2. Sugar, brown 2 tbsp
  3. Osmanthus 1 tsp
  4. Water 2 cups (480 ml)

Method:

  1. Peel, rinse, and cut out the core from the bottom of the pears. (The pears can be pitted and cut into chunks if preferred.)
  2. Add the pears when the water in the saucepan brings to the boil. Reduce the heat and simmer the pears for about 20 minutes or until they are barely tender.
  3. Add the sugar and then the osmanthus. Stir gently to avoid clumping and simmer until the pears are tender.
  4. Cover the dessert and refrigerate until cold before serving.
