SFH on notification scheme under Private Columbaria Bill

Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, after attending the radio programme this morning (June 21):

Reporter: (On the progress of the notification scheme launched by the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department to collect information on private columbaria)

Secretary for Food and Health: As at 2pm yesterday, more than 60 operators of private columbaria had notified the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) regarding the information of their operation. The FEHD will visit and inspect all these places within these few weeks to verify the number of niches and information under other relevant parameters.

Secretary for Food and Health: I am still awaiting for the final outcome of the notification scheme. As soon as we have the information, we will let you know.
