SFH on preventive measures against Ebola virus disease

Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, after attending a public function this afternoon (August 3):

Reporter: (On preventive measures against the Ebola virus disease)

Secretary for Food and Health: The Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health introduced two additional measures against overseas outbreaks of Ebola virus disease yesterday. The first measure is to distribute a directive information sheet to all incoming travellers holding passports issued by the three countries affected by Ebola virus in West Africa. The directions in the information sheet will advise them to present themselves to our port health personnel if they have developed the relevant symptoms upon arrival in Hong Kong. If they do not happen to have symptoms at the time of arrival, the direction will also advise them what to do if they develop symptoms subsequently.

(Please also refer to the Chinese portion of the transcript.)
