About Chinese Medicine Hospital Project

Project Timeline

The tendering process to select the contractor for operation of the Chinese medicine hospital (CMH) was launched in September 2019. Upon the completion of tender assessment, the Government awarded the service deed for operation of the CMH in Tseung Kwan O to the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) on 22 June 2021. The HKBU, as the Contractor, has incorporated a company limited by guarantee, namely HKBU Chinese Medicine Hospital Company Limited as the Operator on 23 November 2021. The Government, together with the HKBU and the operator, are actively working on the preparatory work for the CMH service commencement. Regarding the planning and design of the CMH, the construction works of the CMH commenced on 30 June 2021. Following its phased completion of construction, the CMH is targeted to commence hospital services by phases in 2025.
